CAE Scholarship Program! 

The Certified Association Executive (CAE) Scholarship program was previously founded by ASAE volunteers of the Executive Management Council, in homage to a beloved council member and credential holder, John P. Mamone. The former scholarship program intended to provide scholarship awards to association executives who have applied to sit for the CAE exam within the calendar year.

In 2023, we revitalized and reimagined the scholarship program. The re-launched scholarship program is focused on contributing to a stronger association workforce of tomorrow by removing fiscal barriers to CAE certification today. Today and going forward, the scholarship will be available to all who qualify for the CAE designation with an explicit intention to be the bridge to close the gap for those who are ready to submit their application but, due to economic barriers, can not afford the application fee. This scholarship of $500 is aligned with the cost of application. ASAE members and nonmembers alike are invited to apply as a primary focus of the scholarship is build the association workforce of the future. For those who receive the scholarship who are not members, they will also receive a free, first-year of ASAE membership. 

If you choose to apply, you will be asked for demographic information as well as:

• Self-attestation of your economic need both personally and through your organization
• Two brief essays on your professional journey
• A letter of support on your dedication to the association profession – which can be from your supervisor, CEO, or any professional colleague (including those who do not work with you) 

All who are deemed from that information to qualify for the scholarship will move to selection. Random selection with category caps (so that not all scholarship recipients are from the same location as an example) will then produce the recipients. Recipients of the scholarship will have the choice of whether their award is recognized publicly to further elevate their journey and the scholarship. 

The 2024 Application period will open April 22nd through June 21st, 2024.
