Eligibility 

 

Grants will be available to active ASAE association or industry partner members in good standing who demonstrate financial need. The program intends to ensure a diverse pool of recipients are honored with this award. 

Travel scholarship applicants must be:

  • Current ASAE member (individual or organization membership). The travel scholarship may not be used to cover ASAE membership. 
  • Employed by an organization not financially able to support their travel to the 2024 ASAE Annual Meeting. 
  • Association professionals who are committed to continuous learning, and professional development.  
  • Association professionals currently employed: 
    • at any career level of the organization 
    • in any functional area of the organization 
    • with an organization of any budget or staff size 

Upon selection, travel scholarship recipients must: 

  • Maintain ASAE membership through the term of the travel scholarship award.  
  • Provide a biographical sketch, and a professional headshot to be used in ASAE-USAE Travel Scholarship promotional communications. 
  • Submit a brief, post-event narrative regarding the value and application of the learning experiences.  
  • Additional criteria may be established annually, including limits to the number of times within a set period that an individual, or members from the same organization, receive scholarship funding.  
  • Demonstration of financial need will be assumed based on applicant self-identification, a letter of support from the organization’s Chief Staff Executive or Supervisor, and application affirmation.  
  • While not limited to, the focus will be on early to mid-career professionals who typically do not control their professional development budget.  
  • The program intends to ensure a diverse pool of recipients are honored with this award.  
  • Recipients must maintain records and notes of attendance at the ASAE in-person educational events, as recipients will be expected to complete a final report or survey following the event.
